Quintero   The sanitary landfill, located in the city of Pereira, Risaralda, Colombia, is operated by the company Atesa de Occidente S.A ESP, here the disposal of waste from department of Risaralda, some municipalities of Caldas and Norte del Valle del Cauda is carried out, it´s receiving 800 Tons/day, causing impacts to the environment by the emission of offensive gases and odors, causing problems to community.

   In Colombia, the offensive odour problem, is regulated with the Resolution 1541 of 2013, define the levels of inmission, according to the generating activities, carry to landfill to take measures to reduce, and to quantify odors too.

   Nowadays, we recognise the link between the growing frequency of illnesses such as asthma, allergies and cancers, and the effects of exposure to chemical pollutants in the air that we breathe indoors. Considering these negative effects, indoor air quality (IAQ) is a public health issue that also determines, to a large extent, occupant health, comfort and productivity and, therefore requires special attention.

   Currently, technologies used to treat this kind of pollution have been judged and are not considered fully satisfactory for achieving cleaner indoor air. Accordingly, the main objective of the present study is to treat a micro-polluted air with seven VOCs recognised as important contributors to the deterioration of Indoor Air (IA) (butanol, butyl acetate, formaldehyde, limonene, toluene, trichloroethylene (TCE) and undecane).

leo olfactometer   In the 6th International Conference on Environmental Control Odor Monitoring - NOSE2018 in Milan (Italy) 9-12 September 2018, ARCO Solutions srl, spin off company of the Department of Chemistry and Pharmacy of University of Trieste, presented for the first time its new product LEO - Light Evolution Olfactometer.

   An Olfactometer with 4 panel port designed according to the EN 13725: 2003 and fully automated with 29 dilution steps. Leo is a Dynamic Olfactometer developed for use in laboratories and on-site activities (mobile labs). During the conference the work “Testing Performances of a Newly Design Olfactometer" was also presented, in which the first results of a comparison were made on some samples between the new product and the market benchmark.
