lorenzo   This report exposes the results obtained during the operational years of two plants where Advanced Biofiltration System (BAP) were installed to treat the odour emissions created during the process or from the sewage waters derived from this process.

In order to evaluate the operation of BAP systems, the results of dynamic olfactometry (UNE-EN 13725:2004) and of the concentration of hydrogen sulphide (H2S) were considered, since this latter compound significantly contributes to the overall odour impact in the analyzed case studies.

MASantos   This study presents several results related to the odorous impact derived from organic waste treatment and management plants carried out by the research group. Different raw materials were selected to evaluate the odorous impact and its relationship with their physico-chemical characterization or operational variables. Statistical evaluation through Principal Component Analysis (PCA) groups the odor by its origin or raw material.

In addition, the analysis allows relating the odor with the operational variables, being the odor emission rate (OER, ouE/s) and dynamic respirometric index (DRI, mg O2/gVS·h) the most influential variables in sample variance. NIR technology has demonstrated to be a useful tool to differentiate the chemical composition of the substrates.

dos tokyo 2018  The Digital Olfaction Society (DOS) is regularly holding events more or less every two years. The first DOS event took place in Berlin, Germany and since then, a few more events have taken place, mostly in Tokio, Japan. This time, the conference will take place the days 3-4 of December 2018.

The 3rd World Congress of Digital Olfaction Society was hosted by the Tokyo Institute of Technology in 2016. This successful event is having a continuation this year. Distinguished researchers from all around the world are invited to present and share their views about the digital olfaction in different applications.
