sinia olores   In the month of November 2013, the Ministry of Environment of Chile signed the resolution that backs the Strategy for Odour Management 2014-2017, whose aim is to strengthen the regulatory frame through short-, median- and long-term actions to quantify, control and prevent the odour generation in the industry. The implementation of this Strategy is expected to increase the air quality of the citizens of Chile by including some tools in the environmental legislation of this country. One of the first actions of this Strategy is to elaborate a Law of Odour Control and Prevention. The works on this Law have been initiated in Chile in December 2013.

sesion3 vergara01For years it has been questioned how to run an objective measurement and quantification of odours in ambient air. The odour sampling process has particular relevance. We have come a long way to agree upon and establish methodological standards such as the EN 13725:2004 for analysis and the 3880:2011 VDI for sampling odours.
