Olfactometric analysis

Bags with odorous gases are quickly brought to the laboratory and Odour Concentration is evaluated by means of a Dynamic Olfactometer, which is basically a dynamic dilution system.

In general terms, an olfactometer works this way: A stream of odorous gas is diluted with another one of neutral gas with no odour using a device that controls the dilution with a flow controller. The diluted odorous gas is then presented to a certain amount of people that conforms an "odour panel". The operator of the olfactometer deliver different dilution ratios of odour/neutral gas and each panellist must indicate in which moment they detect an odour.
