The Department of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Science of the University of Trieste is organizing a round table together with the Order of Chemists from the Italian region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia about  the state of the science and technologies and open issues in olfactory nuisances characterization and management. This event is organized in collaboration with the Italian Association of Chemistry under the patronage of the Regional Agency of Environmental Protection (ARPA). This event will take place the 19th of February 2018 in the Auditorium of Museo Revoltella, Via Diaz 27, Trieste (Italy). The inscription is free. 

   In the opening of the eighth week of the year, during the meetings of the Working Groups of the European Committee on Standardization (CEN), a round table will be held in Trieste, to discuss and define technical standards for characterization of odours.  A workshop (mainly in Italian language) is proposed for the presentation of consolidated methods for technical characterization of olfactory nuisances and a round table (in English) for discussing open issues on the above mentioned subjects.

   This is the fifth time that Olfasense organizes a workshop about odour management focused not only in environmental issues but also in product and material testing. This time the organization, coordinated by Ms. Liczkowski, was exquisite and very detailed. At the end of the workshop, a hands on experience with product testing, sampling, managing a LIMS and finally using a TO evolution was carried out. During this event a 3D print of the future TO Mobile olfactometer was presented. All in all, we enjoyed a very well organized event.

   Olfasense has been dealing with equipment for olfactometry and product testing for a few decades under different brand names. Now they have over 50 people working at their offices in Germany and The Netherlands, and they deliver products and services in almost any point in the planet. For a second year in a row, they decided to take some time from their daily tasks to organize a Technical Training Day (TTD) and a Workshop, and they did it very well.
