HARMO2022 is bringing an special session on odour dispersion and exposure the 27 -30 of September in Aveiro, Portugal

The well known HARMO conferences are a series of biennial international conferences on dispersion modelling. This year, the 21st International conference on Harmonisation within Atmospheric Dispersion Modelling for Regulatory Purposes (Harmo21) will take place in the Portuguese city of Aveiro the 27-30 September 2022. This always interesting event for air dispersion modellers comes this time with a nice Perk: A Special Session on Modelling Odour Dispersion and Exposure.

Odour modelling for regulatory purposes is a challenging issue. HARMO conferences have been traditionally seasoned with some odour papers from time to time, but to date, there has not been a special session on odour modelling. This time, HARMO steering committee has proposed a Special Session with the title: Modelling Odour Dispersion and Exposure.

Special Sessions generally cover 3 to 4 hours, so the organizers expect an order of 10 contributions (20 minutes per each talk), and 40 minutes for a talk presenting the main content of the session. Short abstracts will be requested to be submitted as for the standard sessions.

The 21st International conference on Harmonisation within Atmospheric Dispersion Modelling for Regulatory Purposes (Harmo21) is aimed towards model developers, model users, environmental protection agencies and legislation experts. What distinguishes this conference from many others is its focus on common tools and methodologies.

For those of you interested in presenting experiences and results on odour modelling, this is a nice opportunity to do so. Short abstracts of maximum 350 words should be submitted by February 28, 2022 through the link: http://harmo21.web.ua.pt/abstracts/ with indication of preference for oral or poster presentation and topic.

This HARMO conference series have a more or less similar focus than the triennial conferences and Workshops on Air Modelling organized by the Support Center for Regulatory Atmospheric Modelling (SCRAM) of the EPA, so they are a hot spot to stay updated on regulatory air dispersion modelling.

The HARMO organization is promoting the first international Handbook on modelling odour exposure that is being developed right now.
